Do you Travel?
Absolutely! I have an adventurous soul and I love to travel even out of state! I have been as far as Montana, Arkansas, and U.P. Michigan to capture elopements. I love new land to explore and new clients to work with!
How long have you been doing this?
I have been shooting photography for 10+ years and I am currently going into my 8th year of running Emma Therese Photography.
How many photos do we get?
The amount of photos that are edited and returned back in your gallery depends on the session. I shoot anywhere between 50 to 100 photos per an hour. In your gallery, you can expect to receive all your photos with the exception of photos that don't meet my quality and standards.
How do we get our photos?
Your photos are delivered to your email in an online gallery. Once you access your online gallery you will be able to digitally download photos with a security pin number. Your print right release will also be included in your gallery for download.
Do you retouch photos?
All photos in your gallery will be edited to match my artistic style. I also do minor edits to clear blemishes or remove small items. I do not do extensive editing to change skies, the nature of the day, or body figures (I believe in self love and empowerment, regardless of scars, size, or shape. Love your body and own it!). I do not release unedited or RAW files as they do not reflect my work and would be similar to giving out a half painted canvas.
What's your turn around time?
Family, engagements, and other small sessions can expect their galleries back in approximately 2-4 weeks. Wedding galleries are approximately 2-3 months. I know it can be a hard wait for wedding galleries but I promise with all the love and detail I put into each gallery it is worth it! Gallery deliveries can also fluctuate depending on the time of year and work load I am experiencing. If you are concerned about the time frame you will receive your gallery in, please don't hesitate to contact me as I may be experiencing work load or seasonal delays.
How do we book Emma Therese photography?
If you are inquiring for a wedding shoot, I ask you to contact me by email and see if your date is available first! If your date is available, we will continue with drawing up your contract, settling your booking fee, and setting up an in person meeting or call to go over details. If you are looking into my smaller sessions, contact me and we will start on your contract with details of your booking fee. During our initial introduction, we will schedule the date of your shoot.
Can you help us with planning?
ABSOLUTELY! During our introductory meeting, I do my best to help you with any questions you may have regarding planning. A lot of my engagement/ wedding couples ask for my help when writing their wedding itinerary, which I am more than happy to help with!
How far out do you book?
Smaller bookings such as maternity, family, etc. I book out 12 months. Weddings can book up to 2 years in advance. Contacting me is the best way to determine my availability!
What should we do for an engagement session?
First, I suggest contacting me to see if your wedding date is available as I offer packages that include engagement shoots! If you're already booked with me and waiting for our introduction meeting, look for locations that you love or are meaningful to you so we can discuss and plan on location(s) for your shoot.
What should we wear?
If you're unsure of what to wear to your session, I always suggest weather appropriate attire first. However, these are your memories so dress up, be yourself, and, most of all, have fun planning your outfits! I do ask that you avoid small striped clothing as they react with the camera negatively, resulting in less than perfect photos, and anything neon/extremely bright in color as they will cast that color onto your face. Can we include our pets during our session?
100% yes! I absolutely love furry and non-furry family members and encourage you to include them. However, I do ask that any pets that have shown aggression in the past or are highly protective of their family to stay home, as safety of my clients and myself are always the number one priority. If you do plan on including any pets in your session, be sure to have an extra person available to accompany us during your shoot so your furry or non-furry family members can be cared for when they need a break.
Do You have Insurance?
Short answer, yes! Please let me know at least 2 months ahead of time if your venue is needed to be added to my policy to proceed with capturing your wedding.
Are you a solo photographer?
As the sole photographer at Emma Therese Photography mainly I do capture sessions solo. The only time that I work with a second hand is for weddings or if I have a mentee I'm working with. Although mainly I capture sessions solo I have an amazing support system of photographer friends that I work with every year! Everyone that I do hire for help or for second photographer work are held to the same standards as myself in quality, creativity, and friendliness!
